Camping Trailers… A Great Way To Travel

One thing that I’ve forever wanted to do is drive across the United States and take in all the stunning sites this country is in the possession of. I figured this pipe dream of mine would have to wait until after retirement, so I tried to place it out of my mind at least for the time being. But I just couldn’t disregard the calling of the open road. I decisively decided to grasp life by the horns and go on my expedition now – whilst I could still take pleasure in it. Towards that end, I started perusing all the camping trailers I could see for sale.

As I anticipated, there was no scarcity of camping trailers for sale in my district. I found several ads in the Sunday paper, both in the classified sector and in the automotive sector. Infact, there were so many diverse camping trailers for sale that I barely knew where to commence. Even though I had always dreamed of roving across the continental US.(to the point of having my route mapped out in my head), I in no way gave much thought to the sort of automobile I would be in. So I had to go back to square one and make a decision which features I required in my camper.

The first thing I did was decide on a budget. All the camping trailers for sale in my regional paper were priced quite high. I thought I might be able to get a better price from the dealer or private seller, but that would still be far more than I initially wanted to spend. The subsequent thing I had to do was make a decision on the size and facilities of the camper. Most of the advertised camping trailers for sale were extremely luxurious, which contributed to the high ticket price. Of course, it would be pleasant to travel around in style, but I could make do with something a little simpler.

Once I had a better indication of what I required, I took one more look at the various camping trailers for sale. This time, on the other hand, I expanded my search by going online. I checked RV web sites, used vehicle trader sites, even good old eBay, and several other places I could think of that would likely have camping trailers for sale. I was able to find a terrific deal on the complete camper in no time, and am excited about my forthcoming expedition across America.

If you would like to check out some listings of inexpensive camping trailers for sale, I recommend you get going right here on the Internet. In all probability, you’ll obtain a better deal than your local dealer could ever likely offer and you’ll be able to buy a vehicle for a lot less than you first thought.

How much does a 1981 Coachmen travel trailer weight?I'm thinking of buying a 24' coachmen travel trailer to bring the kids camping and such. My Ford Escape has a max of 3500lb (1587 Kg)towing capacity. The owner doesn't know what the weight is as they tow with a truck and it's no problem for them. Any feedback would be great.

Ask the owner to either look on the ownership or have a look at the vin plate on the tongue to see the weight of the trailer. Not completely sure but I think that trailer Depending on the model comes in around 3500-3900 lbs, base weight, Depending on the gear inside. and with water tanks full you could easily exceed6000 lbs. Make sure whatever you get , that your trailer hitch is rated higher than what you tow. Check below for a comparable model to get some idea. Happy campingReferences : http://coachmenrv.com/

You really should find a scale and have it weighed. Many large truck stops have them. You really want to weigh it packed and ready for travel as that's the weight your car is going to be towing. Manufacturers listed towing weights aren't always accurate as they are "Dry weight" or the weight without water in the fresh water tank and no stowables.References : Been RVing for 15 years.
